Second Story Addition & First Floor Remodel
Erika and Levi loved their home’s location—a safe, friendly neighborhood with great playmates for their kids, plus grocery stores, the local Marquette festivals, and other lively festivities just a short walk away.
Their house itself, though—that was another story. This family of five needed more space desperately.
To leave their close-knit community would be unthinkable, so instead, they called TDS Design-Build. Erika and Levi had invested in their home with help from TDS before with a kitchen remodel. This time, they would take things up a notch—expanding with the addition of a second story.
The new second story included four bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a small shared space for gaming and movie nights. These updates ensured the family could continue to grow comfortably in their home for many years to come.

Thoughtful Designing
Adding a second story is no easy feat. Such an expansion requires thoughtful design and in this case, included completely re-imaging the first floor.
A small first-floor bedroom became a stairwell to the upstairs and a much-needed entryway, while the former living room became a proper dining room. Lastly, the primary bedroom was converted into the first-floor living room.
