Lead Carpenters
Lead Carpenters report to the Production Manager. The Lead Carpenter typically has 4-6+ years of carpentry experience and is responsible for overseeing the daily management of our residential building projects, including the work performed by the TDS Production Team and our Trade Partners. Our Lead Carpenters play a key role in the career path progression of Support Carpenters and Carpenters through their dedication to lifelong learning and teaching the craft of carpentry.
Successful Lead Carpenters will have the ability to manage people and projects, execute building layouts, and possess framing and finish carpentry skills for new and remodeled projects. The Lead Carpenter will be expected to maintain a working relationship with project managers and clients, attend weekly client meetings, and communicate progress updates, including changes to the scope of work.
Support Carpenters & Carpenters
Support Carpenters and Carpenters report to the Lead Carpenter and are responsible for the day-to-day labor that takes place on the jobsite. The Support Carpenter position is an entry-level position on our team and is a great starting place for a career in the building trades for people with less than a year of experience who possess the self-motivation required to progress on the TDS Production Team Career Path. From setting up site protection and executing demolition to assisting Carpenters and Lead Carpenters with rough framing and finish carpenters, Support Carpenters are involved in all aspects of a successful project.
The Carpenter position is perfect for people with 1-4 years of experience with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to work independently within the project team structure. Ideal candidates will also possess a desire to broaden their career path opportunities by developing their existing carpentry skills on the way to a Senior Carpenter position. Adding people and project management skills will open Lead Carpenter or Project Manager career path opportunities.
At TDS, we are dedicated to the success and well-being of our team members. Our Production Team Career Path provides a clear understanding of everyone’s roles and responsibilities and a path for career advancement. In addition to competitive hourly wages – $20-24/hr for Support Carpenters, $24-27/hr for Carpenters, and $27-32/hr for Lead Carpenters – we offer a market-leading benefits package for our employees which includes paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, & vision insurance, flex spending plan, disability and limited-term life insurance, 401k with company contribution, company vehicle or mileage, and personal tool allowance.
